Artist Bio

My name is Emily Reiss Coleman.
I began using glass as an artistic medium in 1994. I began
making silver jewelry in 1991. I have been taking art photographs since
1993. I received my BFA in Glass from Tyler School of Art of Temple
University in 2000. I have done many things since then, including blowing
glass at StaffordGlass
in VA. I was extensively trained in stained glass at Beyer Studio, Inc. in
Philadelphia and spent some time teaching high school art also in
Philadelphia. I was a graphic designer, and currently specialize in
Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign. I have worked with Castle Studio,
Inc. in North Wales, PA and David Albert Stained Glass in Philadelphia. I
currently have my own studio, and I'm loving my life! I have the
chance to work for myself and my customers! I also currently work for the Philadelphia Department of Recreation Visual Arts Department as an art teacher for after school programs as well as in an art-intensive summer camp!
My artistic inspiration comes from everything I see! Much of my artwork is inspired by the world around me. I am intrigued by the natural world and the geometry of everyday objects. I also enjoy creating useful items for the home, Judaica, and special occasion gift items.
